UIL Event Attendance Guidelines
Since UIL invitations are school-based rather than strictly team-based, you are welcome to bring students from any of your teams to the event, as long as:
-
- Every attending student is a full-time student at your school.
- The majority of the students attending are high school students.
Consent and Release Requirements:
All coaches, students, and volunteers are required to complete the FIRST in Texas Consent and Releases in order to attend this event.
Coaches will be expected to bring a copy of the Texas Roster and the FIRST Team Roster to this event, to show proof that all relevant parties have completed this requirement. Instructions on how to retrieve your roster can be found here: Consent and Release Form Systems Manual.
For New Students: If you are bringing students who are not currently on a FIRST or FIRST in Texas team roster, please ensure they are added to both systems before the event.
For Schools with Multiple Teams: If your school has multiple teams and you are bringing students from more than one team, you do not need to edit the roster of your designated UIL team.
-
-
Instead, please bring printed copies of the rosters for all relevant teams.
-
Cross out the names of any students who are not attending.
-
Example:
If your school has teams 1234, 1235, and 1236, and team 1234 is representing your school at UIL, but students from teams 1235 and 1236 will also attend, you don’t need to add them to the 1234 roster. Just bring the rosters for all three teams and mark which students are present.
For Central, North, South, and West & Panhandle teams: You should already have access to your Roster through the store.firstintexas.org login.
For East (Houston): You will receive access to the roster system when you register for this event.

Teams are required to bring their own safety glasses / side shields, wear closed toe and heel shoes and be prepared to secure any hair or jewelry that may become in contact with moving parts of the robot. Participants / Coaches are expected to follow any safety directions signs and instructions by FIRST in Texas volunteers / staff while onsite. Safety FIRST in Texas!
